About Toto
Toto was formed in 1976 by guitarists Jeff Porcaro, David Paich (who at the time were also acclaimed studio musicians with Boz Scaggs) and bassist/singer Bobby Kimball. Their name is derived from the Latin word meaning "all inclusive," the group was intent on exploring all styles of music.

Joseph is a more natural frontman than Frederiksen and gives the band a much needed boost.
The band releases Mindfields in 1999, and then embarks on a huge tour around the world. After a few months in Europe they come to Japan where the shows are sold out. After a brief break, Toto resumes their recording and releases their first live album entitled Absolutely Live in 1993. It also features a cover of Weezer's song Hash Pipe as a response to the band's performance in Africa on their recent tour. Toto's touring lineup is completed by drummer Lenny Castro, bassist Shannon Forrest and keyboardist Shem von Schroeck.
